EYE OF THE BODY "OF A CHRISTIAN" LIFE

ONE CHRISTIAN WITNESS:

(Luke 11:34-36)

34) The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

35) Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

36) If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

(John 1:1-14)

1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2) The same was in the beginning with God.

3) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4) In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(John 8:12) 12) Then spake Jesus unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

SECOND CHRISTIAN WITNESS:

(Matthew 6:22-23)

22) The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23) But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

(Ephesians 1:18-23)

18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

22) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

HONOR & GLORIFY GOD WHILE DISCERNING THE LORD'S BODY TO PREVENT SICKNESS

(1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

23) For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24) And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25) After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.

27) Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28) But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30) For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

THEY ARE HELPING US "REIGN IN LIFE" WITH CHRIST

(Romans 5:17)

17) For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

(1 Hebrews 12:1-2)

1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(1 Corinthians 15:45)

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (Galatians 5:17-26)

17) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18) But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26) Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
